US Senate to vote on Ukraine aid on Tuesday
The U.S. Senate is scheduled to vote on Tuesday, April 23, on a significant aid package for Ukraine, which recently passed the House of Representatives, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced on X on April 20.
"The Senate stands ready to take the next step on the national security supplemental," Schumer stated.
"The House at long last approved funding for Ukraine, Israel, Indo-Pacific, and humanitarian assistance. And the Senate locked in an agreement to finish the work with the first vote on Tuesday."
For the legislation to take effect, it must be approved by both chambers of Congress and signed by the President.
The U.S. House of Representatives voted on April 20 to allocate $60 billion to Ukraine through Bill No. 8035, orchestrated by the team of House Speaker Mike Johnson. The bill received support from 311 congressmen, with 112 voting against and one abstention.
