The number of casualties in Russia’s massive morning missile attack on Kyiv has risen to 40 injured and four killed, according to the updated report from the city's military administration.
● Ukraine destroys 44 of 64 Russian missiles and drones during massive Feb. 7 attack – Zaluzhnyi
Ukraine managed to intercept 44 of the 64 Russian missiles and drones launched on the morning of Feb. 7, said Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, on Telegram.
● Borrell: EU to deliver over one million artillery shells by year’s end
The European Union (EU) is set to provide Ukraine with more than one million artillery shells by the end of 2024, EU High Representative/Vice-President (HR/VP) Josep Borrell said during his press briefing in Kyiv on Feb. 7.
The introduction of restrictions on sugar exports to the EU will negatively affect Ukraine’s sugar industry as a whole and could lead to the closure of several sugar factories, Nazar Mykhailovin, acting chairman of the National Sugar Producers Association (Ukrtsukor), said on Feb. 7.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy plans to visit Germany to attend the Munich Security Conference on Feb. 16-18, as reported by German publication Tagesspiegel on Feb. 7.
● Zaluzhnyi’s dismissal won't affect Western aid – Stoltenberg
Should Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy ultimately decide to sack Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi, it would not affect Western security assistance to Kyiv, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said at a press briefing on Feb. 7.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has ordered the Ukrainian Armed Forces to establish a separate branch — the Unmanned Systems Forces. Aviation expert and a leading researcher from Kyiv’s National Aviation University, Valery Romanenko, discussed possible specifics and configuration of the new troops dedicated to unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with Radio NV on Feb. 7.

Members of the Verkhovna Rada have supported a new draft law on mobilization in the first reading, but before it is finally adopted, it must go through several stages, reports MP Oleksiy Goncharenko, on Telegram on Feb. 7.
● Ukrainian IT specialists object to new conscription bill, citing economic threats and operational challenges
The IT Ukraine Association, Lviv IT Cluster, and Kharkiv IT Cluster have expressed the IT sector’s position on the new conscription bill, highlighting concerns about its impact on the Ukrainian economy in a joint statement released on Feb. 7.
