Russian ballistic strike cuts power to over 300,000 families in Mykolaiv Oblast

Russian forces struck energy facilities in Mykolaiv Oblast on the morning of Aug. 29, leaving more than 300,000 families without power, the Mykolaiv Oblast Military Administration reported.
Power outages affected Mykolaiv and communities in the Mykolaiv and Bashtanka districts. Utility crews are working at the affected sites, the administration said.
Authorities said Russian forces struck an energy facility with an Iskander-M ballistic missile.
The State Emergency Service also reported that Russian attacks on the evening of Aug. 28 and the morning of Aug. 29 damaged a home improvement store and a warehouse in Mykolaiv Oblast and sparked a fire.
The blast also damaged windows in apartment buildings, an administrative building, three garages and a vehicle. No injuries were reported.
Explosions were heard in Mykolaiv overnight, with reports of jet-powered drones heading toward the city. In the morning, the Ukrainian Air Force warned of high-speed targets heading toward Mykolaiv Oblast.
The Air Force said Russia attacked Ukraine overnight with an Oniks anti-ship missile, an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 267 attack drones.
