Ukrainian military debunks Putin's claims of seizing Kharkiv Oblast village

Russian claims alleging the capture of Kozacha Lopan in Kharkiv Oblast are completely untrue, Ukraine's 14th Army Corps announced on Sept. 2.
Military officials highlighted that the settlement remains under the firm control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
At the same time, the tactical situation near this border settlement remains tense, with active combat underway, the corps noted.
"The situation is dynamic: our troops are holding designated defensive lines, conducting active defense, and delivering systematic fire strikes against the enemy," the military stated.
Since the onset of active operations near Kozacha Lopan, Russian occupation forces have lost 178 soldiers killed in action and 210 wounded.
The 14th Army Corps urged the public to rely exclusively on official reporting channels and disregard Russian disinformation narratives.
Over the past 24 hours in the Pivdenno-Slobozhanskyi operational direction, Ukrainian service members repelled seven enemy assaults. Russian forces attempted to advance toward Volokhivka, Domashnye, and Bochhkove, as well as in the areas of Vovchanski Khutory and Starytsya.
