Finland summons Russian envoy over suspected airspace violation
The Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Russian chargé d'affaires for questioning after an alleged airspace violation, Yle reported, citing the ministry's communications department on June 11.
A conversation is scheduled for June 11 regarding a potential airspace violation by a Russian military aircraft, although the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not disclosed further details.
Reports indicate that a Russian military aircraft may have violated Finnish airspace near Porvoo on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 10. The Finnish Border Guard is investigating the incident.
This marks the second such incident in a month. The previous violation occurred at the end of May. Following that incident, the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Russian Ambassador to Finland Pavel Kuznetsov and issued a formal note on the matter.
