Russian Kh-59 guided cruise missile downed on approach to Dnipro
A Russian Kh-59 guided cruise missile was shot down as it approached Dnipro, the Eastern Air Force Command’s press service reported on Facebook on Jan. 17.
A missile threat alert was declared in the city at 17:23 EET, followed shortly by reports of explosions.
Seventeen people were injured, including two critically, after Russia used S-300 missiles in two overnight strikes on Kharkiv on Jan. 16, reported Kharkiv governor Oleh Synehubov on Telegram. Thirteen civilians remain in hospital following the attacks.
Three people were also injured in drone strikes againt Odesa on Jan. 17, Odesa Regional Administration head, Oleh Kiper, reported on Telegram.
Ukraine intercepted 19 of the 20 Iranian Shahed drones launched by Russian occupiers overnight on Jan. 17, Ukraine’s Air Force reported on Telegram.
Russia launched the Shahed 136/131 drones from Primorsk-Akhtarsk in Krasnodar Krai. The S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles fired at Kharkiv originated in Russia’s Belgorod Oblast.
