Russian air bomb claims civilian life in Ukrainian village, children injured
Russian forces dropped an air bomb on Malyi Burluk village in Donetsk Oblast, killing one woman and injuring two children, the Ukrainian National Police reported on Telegram on Jan. 17.
"The air bomb struck the village council building in Malyi Burluk,” the statement said.
“Two kids were injured — a 10-year-old boy had a traumatic leg amputation, and a 13-year-old girl sustained shrapnel wounds to the torso, currently hospitalized. During the inspection of the impact site, the police found the body of a woman."
The police are working to establish the identity of the deceased.
Russian shelling also damaged private households in Kupyansk, sparking a fire in one of the houses, the law enforcement officials said. An investigative team, including explosive ordnance disposal specialists and criminologists, is on the scene.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, addressing violations of the laws and customs of war.
