Critical situation in Pokrovsk: Ukrainian MP details Russian advance

The secretary of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence confirmed that the difficult situation in the Pokrovsk sector is evident in the information field.
"It is being conveyed by many of our people—those involved and not involved, those who simply know someone there. The situation is difficult," the lawmaker said.
The Russians are using more infantry and "pushing us out with infantry."
"There is no resilience from our infantry, and therefore the Russians are pushing us back step by step," he added.
“From a military point of view, it cannot be said that there is a super-intensive Russian offensive there.”
Ukrainian commanders are aware that there are less than 10 kilometers left to Pokrovsk, and therefore "every 100, 200, 300 meters the Russians advance with heavy losses," said Kostenko.
"They are showing the time it will take them to reach Pokrovsk, and the battles for Pokrovsk will begin. Therefore, all [these events] are considered critical," the MP concluded.
Despite Ukraine inflicting heavy losses on the invasion forces, Kostenko said that "now it is necessary to throw all possible forces to stop the Russian advance" on the Pokrovsk front.
"And I repeat: there is more infantry [fighting on the Russian side], and here it is necessary to find a countermeasure now," Kostenko stated.
“And in such battles with small arms, rifle battles, people need to have combat experience in these battles. Our Third Assault Brigade, Azov, and many other brigades have such experience. Unfortunately, newly formed brigades are not resilient in rifle battles. And now it is necessary to find reserves from experienced brigades.”
