Night Russian attack leaves one injured, causes gas and electricity outage in Sumy
One person was injured, the Veretenivka district was left without electricity and gas in the Russian attack on Sumy, regional governor Oleksii Drozdenko reported on Telegram on Aug. 13.
"Recovery work is underway after the morning enemy attack," he wrote.
"There is one wounded person, he was taken away by an ambulance. The Veretenivka district is left without gas and electricity until the works are completed. All services are working."
Some streets in the city were blocked.
The Russian army launched a missile and air strike on infrastructure facilities in Sumy, Regional Military Administration reported.
"The enemy launched a missile-aircraft attack on infrastructure facilities in the city of Sumy on Aug. 13," the officials said.
"Services are working on site, recovery works are being carried out. The enemy attack consequences are being assessed."
Russian attacks on Sumy Oblast
The Russians hit a school in the village of Mohrytsya, Sumy Oblast, with anti-aircraft guns on August 8. 22-year-old boy and his 6-year-old sister, who were in the school yard during the shelling, were killed.
The Russians released more than 100 guided aerial bombs in Sumy Oblast on August 7-8, Sumy Governor Volodymyr Artyukh reported later.
Over 3,800 people had been evacuated from the front-line areas of Sumy Oblast in a week, Artyukh said on national television on August 12.
"As part of the evacuation from 23 settlements announced on August 6, as of today, about 3,800 people have been evacuated, including 175 children," he said.
